Backend Software Engineer

Funambol is the leading personal cloud solution used by mobile operators, device manufacturers, portals, service providers and software companies around the world.

We are seeking a dynamic and talented Backend Software Engineer to join our Funambol team in Pavia, Italy, bringing expertise in designing backend solutions and a passion for innovation in the personal cloud solutions space

• Development and Code Improvement:
  • Develop new functionalities that align with stakeholder and customer requirements.
  • Refactor and enhance existing codebase, focusing on sustainability and flexibility.
  • Take ownership, responsibility, and accountability for projects and tasks.
  • Engage in bug fixing and contribute to addressing tasks tracked over time.
• Collaboration
  • Interact with team members and stakeholders to understand requirements thoroughly.
  • Design software and actively participate in code writing and reviewing processes.
  • Ensure the production of high-quality code that delivers value to customers and stakeholders.
• Creative Design and Solution Proposal:
  • Propose creative designs and solutions for existing and new problems.
  • Bring innovative ideas to the team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and exploring different approaches.

Our main language is Java, we work using Scrum. Our iteration lasts 2 weeks. Our application is used by hundreds of thousands of people worldwide. We iterate over problems, we experiment and measure how our solutions impact the end user, and we learn how to improve at every cycle. • 1+ year of relevant development experience.
• Good knowledge of object-oriented design techniques
• Good level of English (you will work in an international team)
• Strong analytical and logic skills, with a determination to overcome challenges.
• Good understanding of Internet protocols and REST APIs
• Good knowledge of SQL and relational databases performance issues

This role is based in our Pavia office in Italy, where you'll collaborate with colleagues from Portugal, Ukraine, Germany, and the USA, fostering a daily experience of diverse and multicultural interactions. To apply for this job, you must be eligible to work in Italy.
