Phone Sniper Program

Test phones, help the community, get paid and recognized...

Phone Sniper is a community program to test mobile devices that work with Funambol. Testers receive recognition and can earn $25 per phone tested as a token of our appreciation. There are four basic steps that should take 30 - 60 minutes:

Step 1: Apply

Check out the phones we would like tested. If you have access to one of these phones, or to another phone that is not on this list, and are interested in certifying it, please submit a request. We will review your request, to make sure it is a phone that needs to be certified (e.g. others are not already working on it, it is a high priority) and get back to you shortly. Note: if you would like to test multiple phones, please fill out the request form separately for each phone — thank you.

Step 2: Test

Once your request is approved, complete a Phone Test Plan (PDF File, 32KB), summarized below:

Configure your phone to work with the myFUNAMBOL Portal; this requires a free portal account. If you do not already have a portal account, please visit my.funambol.com and request a portal account by clicking the Sign up button.
Per the Phone Test Plan (PDF File, 32KB), enter, change and delete contact entries on your phone and the portal, and synchronize them to ensure that the device works properly. To test a phone, you must have a working Internet connection on the device that allows mobile data. Charges for accessing data over the Internet may be included as part of your data plan or you may be charged separately. If you are unsure, please check with your carrier.

Step 3: Report

Report the device configuration steps, test results and any errors using an online form.

Step 4: Reward

Once Funambol verifies your tests using our portal server log, Funambol will transfer $25 for each phone tested or $10 for a phone that you attempted to configure but could not get to work, into your PayPal account, within five business days.

Funambol will update our list of certified phones using your test results. You can also have your photo posted on our site.
