A video of the Funambol iPhone plugin
I realized you might not have bought an iPhone 3G yet (whaaat?? are there people out there who did not buy one??) or you might not have upgraded your iPhone to firmware 2.0 (let me guess, you have a jailbroken and unlocked phone and you are just waiting for Zibri... Me too. Just wait). Therefore, I put together a short video to show how it works. Here it is.Posted by Fabrizio at 10:07

is there any chance - real chance - that Apple will allow you to sync calendar details as well (from outlook to iphone)(see API problem)?!
contacts is already great, but calendar is essential for us :-)

You should ask Steve Jobs ;-)
Soon, we'll have a plugin with calendar and note support as well. But it will work only on jailbroken phones.
Waiting for Steve Jobs...

Hey fab- has anyone tried the Android Funambol version on any of the "bootlegged" Android OS devices floating around?
They just ported Android to one of the phones I happen to have, so I was thinking about taking a crack at it one of these days and see how it does in the wild...

It's great that you can sync a 3G iPhone with Thunderbird. However on Linux this is only possible with the i386 version of the Funambol Mozilla plugin because there is no x86_64 version. Several requests have already been made for an x86_64 version of the plugin but no reply yet from Funambol. Please release an x86_64 version of this plugin so that the *many* people running x86_64 distro's can enjoy this functionality too. Many thanks in advance!

Hello,
great to hear about the Thunderbird plugin. Just to clarify: you should not wait for an answer from Funambol (the company) but from the developers of the plugin, who belong to our community. I know they are working hard, but they do not do it for a living. Just ask again and hope they will do it. And what about giving them a hand? That's the spirit of open source!
Cheers,
fabrizio
