Amit Chawla is CEO of Funambol, the leading provider of white-label personal cloud solutions for billions of phones and connected devices. Amit has an extensive background of executive leadership and operational excellence in the mobile industry, most recently as CEO of enterprise mobility specialist Agito Networks, which was acquired by ShoreTel [NASDAQ: SHOR]. Prior to Agito, Amit was CEO of NexVerse Networks, where he spearheaded the merger with a division of ECI Telecom to form Veraz Networks which was listed on the NASDAQ in 2007. Amit's deep experience with worldwide carrier and Global 2000 enterprise communications products included several leadership positions at Nortel Networks. President and Chairman of the Board
Fabrizio Capobianco is President and Chairman of the Board of Funambol. He has extensive expertise in the mobile industry, with work experience that includes Reuters and Tibco. He is a successful entrepreneur, having founded several Italian high tech companies. Fabrizio has a Ph.D. in computer science from the University of Pavia, Italy, with a focus on usability. He has been recognized as a top '40 under 40' high tech leader and mobile visionary. He writes a blog that was voted among the best in the industry by FierceWireless.
VP Engineering and Engineering Services
Stefano Fornari is head of Engineering and related services at Funambol. Prior to his development role at Funambol, Fornari was chief architect at Stigma Online where he played a key role in the development of the company’s flagship portal product, SolWeb Intra. He has also held positions at Compaq, where he was an advisor on wireless technologies in PDAs, and at Art Technology Group (ATG) as a consultant. He holds an M.S. in Computer Science.
Chief Financial Officer
Alberto Onetti acts as Chief Financial Officer. He has over 15 years of experience in the corporate finance field as consultant for leading banking groups and multinational companies. Alberto holds a Ph.D. in corporate strategy and a Master degree in International Finance. He is Professor of management and entrepreneurship at the Department of Economics of the Insubria University.
Vice President, Product Management
Ata Rasekhi is responsible for market research, definition and delivery of Funambol's mobile open source platform and products. Rasekhi brings with him 16 years of product management and product marketing experience and a proven track record of building and launching industry-leading software products. Prior to Funambol, Rasekhi was the Director of Product Management at Scalix, a leading provider of email and collaboration software for Linux and open systems. Before Scalix, Rasekhi ran a successful consulting firm delivering product management and marketing services to various high profile startups. Prior to consulting, Rasekhi held senior product management and product marketing positions at Remedy, Lotus Development, and cc:Mail. He holds a B.S. degree in Computer Science from University of California, Santa Barbara.
Vice President, Worldwide Marketing and Business Development
Hal Steger is Vice President of Worldwide Marketing and Business Development at Funambol. He has more than 20 years of marketing and business development experience at high-growth, innovative global software companies. Prior to Funambol, he was responsible for worldwide marketing at Scalix, a leading provider of open systems messaging solutions. Before Scalix, Steger co-founded and was VP Marketing of Rubric, where he positioned the company as the leader of the new category of Marketing Automation solutions. Rubric was acquired for $370M. Prior to Rubric, Hal held product management and product marketing positions at Oracle, Uniface/Compuware, and other high profile Silicon Valley companies. He holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan with a double major in Computer Science and Economics, and an M.S.I.A. (MBA) degree from Carnegie-Mellon's Tepper School of Business (formerly GSIA).
